From Skepticism to Getting Paid – My Personal Struggle with Money

You guys, I’m so happy I could cry right now. Seriously. I’m almost in tears.

Today I got my first decent paycheck from Young Living and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Honestly, when I first decided to join and say ‘yes’, I truly had no idea if I would be able to make any money from it. I had done network marketing in the past and never made a dime (granted I did quit early on and didn’t have my heart in it as I do with Young Living). I felt God’s hand leading me in this direction and I followed. I took a leap of faith and after checking my bank account and seeing the money added in just now, I couldn’t be happier that I did it.

Since I’m just getting started out in this business, it really isn’t a lot compared to how much my leaders are currently making. Not even close. It may not be able to supplement income just yet, and you may think it’s not much at all. That’s beside the point, though. It’s a lot to me and it is something I am so thankful for and really helps us out this month. It was a boost that I have been needing.

I really want to share something with you guys and it’s very personal. This whole post is personal, but it needs to be shared. I want you guys to know and feel my authenticity through the screen. When I first heard about Young Living, I was interested in the toxin-free products and their versatility. I had used oils in the past but for nothing other than diffusing and thinking that “they smell nice.” I had no idea you could ingest them, use them in place of cleaners, or even that you could opt for them instead of certain over the counter drugs and medications. I didn’t know they could be as powerful and potent as they actually are.

One day, I stumbled across a friend of mine posting all about Young Living on Instagram. We were never really close. Acquaintances, in fact. We were in basic training for the military together many years ago and I wish we had been able to get to know eachother better back then because she’s a real gem. She talked about the products and how they were helping her around her home as a mom of two little children. She talked about the health implications of “normal” products that we often buy in stores without realizing. She diffused oils, cleaned with this magical “Thieves” cleaner that I kept hearing about and lastly, I saw her grow and she talked about her promotions and how she was changing her family’s lives with the income she was making through the business opportunity with Young Living.

I’m always skeptical of mlms and people’s success stories with them and always thought they just “got lucky” and that it was all some scam. I think that is a very natural assumption in this day and age, but that topic is for a whole other post. Actually, I did a blog about network marketing and will link it here if you’re interested in that. Anyway, I was happy for her and that she was doing so well, but every time I would stumble across her feed, I would stop and wonder “what if?” and it was a feeling that tugged on my heartstrings for weeks before I decided to actually message her.

I used to make pretty decent money when I was working as a server. Earning tips made all the difference and I was so used to always having loads of cash on me. It may not have been enough to where I wasn’t budgeting and simply buying anything I wanted; I wasn’t rich, but we never had to worry about having the lights shut off. Money was good but I HATED my job and how it was affecting every aspect of my life. I knew God created me to do something more than something that made me completely miserable every day. I knew this because I knew I couldn’t effectively serve Him while my mind and body was in that state. He created me for a purpose and that just wasn’t it.

When I decided to start listening to Him and had gotten fed up with the way things were, I decided to start my own business using my brand, QuinDu Creations that I had started back in 2015, about 3 years prior to this moment. I decided it was time to turn my life around and wanted to run at my dream career of being an artist. That’s when I started my self-employment journey. I started this blog, started learning how to design and edit my website, started a YouTube channel, and started consistently posting to social media and began sharing my journey with the world and everyone I knew.

Obviously, getting started with any business is tough as you are starting out and I made almost nothing since I began this journey about 7 months ago. Yep. I said it & there it is, so you can stop wondering now. I’ve worked tirelessly, almost daily, for almost no profit. I’ve had a few sales here and there, but not enough ever count on a monthly basis and not enough to cover even half of my minimum wage paychecks that I used to think of as “bonus money.” This wasn’t surprising though. I knew it would be this way until I got my feet on the ground and I knew it would be hard. We cut back in a LOT of areas to make up for the change in household income and I’ve learned to live minimally. There hasn’t been any extra willy nilly spending and I don’t buy things just because I want them anymore. It’s been bare necessities and we’ve pretty much cut out any extra curricular activities from our calendar. Eating out had become a rare luxury and even certain food items have become a luxury that we would only get every once and a while as a treat. Hello, vegan-labeled snack foods.

I’m not telling you guys all of this to make you feel bad for me or to admit that I had made a mistake in leaving my old job. I want to tell you the exact opposite. The career change has been an amazing thing for my family and has taught us humility and how to budget our money. I’ve also learned a thing or two about minimalism and have found that having less and buying less actually makes me happier. Happiness doesn’t pay the bills, however, and that’s the cold hard truth. There were many times where I thought about getting another part-time job to contribute more, but that would have been like going back in the other direction I had just turned away from.

So why exactly am I telling you this? It’s because I want you to see where I’m coming from. After hearing Beka’s testimony, I had found myself thinking about Young Living and the business more and more. What was holding me back? Money. Skepticism. The fact that I had failed participating in my other network marketing business in the past. Originally, I just wanted to start a journey to a cleaner life and start using the oils and products. I had no interest in pursuing it as a business, but now that was all I could think about. I am so passionate about my work as an artist. I love painting and creating and it will always be my dream-but what if this was a way I could start a cleaner, healthier lifestyle while also earning some extra income to put into my bills AND my business? That was when the gears really started turning and I had finally decided to reach out and message her.

Fast-forward 3 months and you will find that my world has completely changed. Most of my household items are being swapped out for ones where I know and understand all of the ingredients listed. I’ve been introduced to so many different products I now swear by and order on a regular basis. I have been using my creativity to decorate the house with oils and all sorts of Young Living displays (its more fun than it sounds). I have fun making DIY versions of my old beauty products and perfumes. I also enjoy that I now make even less trips to the store-a MAJOR plus when you work from home and live 30 minutes from a decent shopping center. Another bonus point for less impulse buying at stores like Target (though, Target, I do love you). I have also been able to start sharing my Young Living journey with my family and friends and have shared all my amazing experiences with one of my oldest and closest friends who now works this business alongside me.

It all may not seem like much to you, but to me and my family, IT IS EVERYTHING. I share this with you today because I know the misconception of mlms and I know they have a VERY bad reputation. I’m sharing today from my heart as a woman that has been struggling with money but still had the guts to start her own business despite all of the negativity and the nasty stigma put against her. Not all mlms are “scams” and not all people treat the people they interact with as mere dollar signs. We do benefit, but that is a mutual interaction.

If you can relate with my story today, I truly hope you reach out to me. Not because I will gain something from you, but because I want to help you. Genuinely. I’ve shared what this business has done for me and my family so far and I am only going up from here through God’s grace and blessing. If you want to learn more, check out my other blogs or privately message me on my Instagram oils account.

Thank you for reading and God bless.

Brand Makeover. You Can Do It All – If You Want.

Good Morning, Readers. ♡

I just have a quick update this morning as I’ve been itching to get started on a new painting. So far this morning, I’ve been working on some much-needed brand-updating for my website, social media, and youtube channel. I’ve been feeling like I’ve spread myself across so many different niches and it’s been hard getting the right balance. I have been an advocate for the belief that you can create your brand/business revolving around more than just one thing, but everyone seems to like to promote the opposite.

I see so many artists and other accounts on social media of varying niches and styles and it seems each one always likes to keep their interests solely on that one thing with all other interests separate. I’ve tried this with creating a separate essential oils, art, and lifestyle accounts. None of them have worked for me in the past because I had always felt as if I had left something, a part of me, out. I’ve just found it discouraging eventually and lost the joy in sharing my posts on those accounts. I don’t know if any of you have realised it or not, but recently I have been posting content on my Instagram (among other) account that is purely genuine and fits within all my interests. It may not gain me the most followers, but it shows everyone that does check in who I am in a nutshell.

Doing this, I feel whole.

I’m not saying that one way is better than the other- we all need to do what is best for us and fits our individual needs. That is exactly why I updated my YouTube banner to the featured image on this post.

Think of it as another way that I’m just genuinely being myself and sharing who I am with you all.

I am an artist.

I am also a christian,
a wellness advocate, and a wife.

“Stand up tall, little flowers. Be your shining and beautiful self. Don’t compare yourself to the other flowers around you. We’re all unique and beautifully made.”

It’s so much more fun being authentic. Have an amazing week, everyone.

Travel. Just Go.

Hello friends! It’s Thursday! I’ve got my art and wellness YouTube videos all prepared to upload for the week! I’m feeling accomplished and was going to start a painting after finishing up all my other tasks of the day, but my body is so tired from my run yesterday that I decided to lay back and write this evening. I couldn’t bear to sit at the easel feeling as sore and achy as I do now! You better believe I’m diffusing some oils and using some relaxing roller blends. I’m just relieved that spring is FINALLY starting to arrive in Minnesota and that my normal outdoor runs can commence once again. It’s always difficult starting over, however.

This morning I was going through my phone and found some old photographs of our trip we took to Japan last April. I can’t believe it’s already been a year almost. I’ve been reminiscing about what an accomplishment this was and I am still shocked to this day that this dream of mine was fulfilled after years of planning and longing to go. Read the caption below.

Ever since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to travel. It was a dream of mine to go to Japan. I have always loved the culture and I told myself that one day I would make it happen. #throwback to last year when that dream came true. I’ve been manifesting my dreams and desires since I was a little girl. I’m not the biggest believer in the new-age theories about manifestation and the law of attraction. I’m not sure that if you just “put your dreams out into the universe” that you will be rewarded. What I do believe in, however, is hard work. I have a vision board at my desk next to my computer and I see my goals daily. I know that those dreams and desires wont come to me unless I put the time and energy into them. Slowly, but surely, I’ve been tackling the things off my list. The business I’ve dreamed about for the past 5 years is now officially official. I just opened my business checking account and lines of credit the other day. Starting my business didnt happen until I decided to work for it and make it happen. For today’s #throwbackthursday I wanted to recognize the feeling I had when I was in Japan with my husband and I felt the impact of hard work and commitment. Also, totally #notsponsored by #louisvuitton 😉

I wanted to elaborate a little on this post, which is why I’m here now. I truly believe that when we work hard at our dreams and refuse to give up on them, that amazing things can happen. I’m only six months into my full-time self-employment and I feel like I have learned a lot and come so far. I know there is still a long way to go with my artwork, brand, and business, but I feel confident that with time, I’ll get there.

There’s just something about being in another country that puts your life into perspective. The trip was so rewarding knowing that it was something I was constantly working towards. My husband and I are firm believers in the value of time and experiences over worldly possessions. Reaping the benefits of hard work really adds value to the whole process of working hard and sticking to your goals and dreams. Traveling to Japan was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had in my life. Not that it’s a secret, but I also have a Travel Diary from this trip that I will be uploading onto my YouTube channel soon, hopefully. I’m so close to having it ready but need to find some footage of the last parts of the trip. Definitely subscribe to my channel and stay tuned for that. It’s going to be a fun one!

Perhaps I decided to write this as a reminder to myself in the future on those bad days where I feel as if I’m remaining stagnant in my career. We all need motivation from time to time and I hope my words are able to light a fire beneath you all!

Get out there and conquer your dreams!

Mindful Mornings: Boosting Creativity and Overall Wellness

I woke up this morning feeling more refreshed and inspired than I have been lately. I feel so motivated and ready to conquer the week! Not bad for a Monday morning, eh? The reason for this is that I’ve begun making small changes to my morning routine over the past few days. I wanted to test this theory of mine before sharing with you all and I am completely comfortable now that I’ve tested it out for a few days.

I’ve always believed that we are all products of our environment. This is why a lot of people refer to me as a “clean freak” and why I desire to keep my space simple, bright, open, and tidy. Having an abundance of things and being in cluttered spaces has oftentimes peaked my stress and anxiety. Because our minds often operate at a hundred miles a minute (at least for me), I believe it is so important to have a simple, inviting space that supports a quiet, calm mind.

This isn’t necessarily a blog about minimalism, but more so about adopting a mindful morning routine. Just like the feelings a tidy, simple space provides, I’ve found that when you begin your day with a simple mindset and organized thoughts, it better helps with staying focused throughout the day and keeping your attention on the tasks at hand.

Part of this morning’s journal practice. Just plain and simple.

I’ve recently decided to take up bullet journaling every morning right after I wake up and have started a more mindful morning routine because of it. I used to immediately grab my phone and start mindlessly browsing and scrolling through work content, social media, and emails before even addressing myself or how I was feeling in that moment. I’d spend so much time just laying there in bed and found myself starting my day feeling unproductive. I’d found that this, more often than not, started my day with the overall feelings of stress and negativity.

I’m working on changing things slowly and now, instead of going straight into work and checking my phone, I have started my mornings instead by journaling and asking myself five key questions first thing in the morning and writing down the answers. I’ve started each day the same and have found my mood and overall productivity to be higher than on days where I haven’t done this.

  • How am I feeling today?
  • What do I want to accomplish today?
  • What’s on my mind?
  • What will I do for myself today?
  • What are some positive affirmations I need to remember today?

Starting my day by addressing how I’m feeling and what’s currently on my mind as I wake up has helped me to organize my thoughts whether troubling or not. Writing the answers to these questions down on paper helps to put my thoughts and feelings into perspective and simplifies it all. It helps me to focus on those feelings and to address them correctly and individually. Doing this has helped me tune into my body and emotions and I start my day remedying the negatives and reinforcing the positives.

By stating how I plan on caring for myself and giving myself positive affirmations, I’ve found it easier to remain positive and optimistic throughout the day. When I find myself in a situation later on where I may be needing the extra motivation or encouragement, I’ll simply open my journal and remind myself of the goals I’ve set for myself that morning and the positive affirmations I have written down.

This has also done wonders for my creative mind. Having my thoughts logged on paper has taken some of the extra fluff from floating out of my mind and I’ve been finding it easier to focus on my art and the tasks at hand as I take them all on one at a time. I plan on creating a YouTube video about this as another #WellnessSunday episode, but I highly encourage you all to give this a try-especially if you’ve been finding it hard to focus and find yourself facing a creative block.

Thanks again for tuning in, friends. I hope you all have an amazing week! I’ll check back in soon!

Network Marketing and Pyramid Schemes? My thoughts exactly.

Hello, beautiful readers!

I’ve been speaking with a lot of you about your wellness wishes and interest in Young Living. I’ve planted a lot of seeds and hope to see some of them start sprouting soon! It’s still cold, but spring is coming!

The featured image is the most updated Young Living Income Disclosure to help entice you a little further.

Yes it’s real!

People do actually make that much! The averages are very accurate from each person I’ve ever asked that hold those ranks!

Don’t pay attention to the percentage of all members portion, because it is actually inaccurate. It is misleading making you think that it’s impossible to get to those ranks. The percentage is exponentially higher in reality and the reason for that is because all Young Living members that are even just consumers of the products, are calculated into this percentage. The percentage is low because not all members are actually doing the business. We all have diamond potential, but we need to work for it.

For all my fellow skeptics out there, this one is for you!

Some of you are still hesitant about joining because this is a Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) business and feel uncomfortable about that aspect. Because of your concerns, today, I wanted to share with you all my own opinions on network marketing and the reason that Young Living could be right for you!

I’ve got three main points I want to cover in this blog so sit tight, grab your coffee or tea, and let’s get this going. Continue reading Network Marketing and Pyramid Schemes? My thoughts exactly.

All About Thieves…

If you’re reading this, then WELCOME to my blog! In addition to my #WellnessSunday videos that I’m starting up every Sunday evening on YouTube, I also thought it would be fun to start writing more about Young Living and other lifestyle topics on a weekly basis as well! Don’t worry, Monday is still the day for art content. 😉

I wanted to start up the wellness and lifestyle blogs every Thursday moving forward.

What I’ve got for you today is a huge piece of why I decided to join Young Living: a little recipe known as Thieves.

History

It’s been said that the oils used in this blend were from a recipe of herbs that were used together to fight off the bubonic plague in France in the early 1500s. Thieves were stealing items and money from the graves and homes of the deceased-without also contracting the deadly disease as well. Confused and puzzled, the local authorities and magistrate granted the thieves freedom if they shared their secret. These thieves just so happened to be herbalists, perfumers, and spice traders. They knew what to use and how to use it in order to avoid getting affected by the plague. This was where the name “Thieves” was born.

There has been a lot of controversy throughout the ages as to what that specific blend of herbs was. Most historians can agree that it was a blend of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals. In 1994, Young Living added the Thieves blend to their repertoire containing the following essential oils: Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary.

Uses

Providing wellness support without the use of harsh chemicals is exactly what you can expect from using this blend of pure essential oils. I have only just begun using my Thieves Cleaner, but my lungs and hands are already so thankful.

For some reason, whenever I think of cleaning, my brain automatically goes to the memories I have as a child growing up. Cleaning has always meant using extremely harsh chemicals and I had always thought that there was no way to effectively clean without them. As a society, we have become so conditioned to think this way and it has been so natural to assume that things don’t really get “clean” without them.

Well, I just have to say that I’ve done some research online and this couldn’t be further from the truth. I almost feel as if we’d be better off living in our own filth than to expose ourselves and families to the harsh chemicals found in most modern-day cleaners. A lot of ingredients are known to be carcinogenic and it’s no wonder that I would feel dizzy and ill after exposing myself to them in my daily cleaning routines. The mere fact that it can be used around pets and children speaks volumes in itself! No need to contact poison control-simply have you child drink plenty of water if directly ingested. How’s that for a safe, modern-day cleaner?

Aside from simply used for cleaning it is also a powerful blend that can be diffused or applied topically to provide immunity support-especially during this time of the year! Remember the bubonic plague story? Dilute it in a roller bottle with a carrier oil and roll onto the bottoms of your feet! The Thieves Vitality oil (with the white label) is also safe for ingestion! I like to put a few drops in my water or tea for increased support and benefits!

Each of us are different, however, and we all need to do what we feel is best for ourselves and our own families. What works best for my family may not be the same for you and yours, but I highly suggest that you all draw your own conclusions after doing some adequate research for yourselves.

My Experience So Far

It’s been over a month now since I’ve gotten started with essential oils and my newfound obsession with Young Living. So far, I haven’t even needed to purchase any Thieves Cleaner just yet. We have been using the sample packet that came in my starter kit and it has just been so awesome seeing how far that small bit of cleaner really goes. Of course I want to eventually replace our laundry and dish soap with the Thieves version, but we are trying to use up what we already have-which is hard because of the toxin content we know there to be in our usual cleaners. We wish we had the luxury of just tossing it all out, but at least these have been the only things that were touched within our Toxin Box over the past month and a half.

If you missed it, I talk a little more about my Toxin Box and why I decided to go with Young Living a little more in this blog post: I’m “Selling” essential oils nowadays. Did you guys know? Rather than being redundant and explaining the initial whys of this decision, please feel free to check that out if you guys are interested.

Find Out more

This post has been all about Thieves so far, but I know there is still a lot I haven’t covered. This Wellness Sunday I will be sharing a short video on my YouTube channel about the sample packet that comes in your Young Living premium starter kit. I’ll be giving you the simple and easy way to make the most out of your packet. Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss the upload!

Why join The Business?

If you want to start your wellness journey, doing the business really is the best way because all you have to do is get your starter kit the first month followed by a monthly order of products you would have already been buying at the store anyways. Let me explain:

Because of toxin content, I actually save more money now because I don’t buy all of the products I used to buy such as: candles, scented sprays, perfumes, potpourris, makeup, hair products, face wash, face masks, eye cream, lotion, shower products, shave cream, hand sanitizer, muscle rub, after sun lotions, all purpose cleaners, glass cleaner, soft scrub, dish soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets, shower cleaner, hand soap, toilet cleaner, air fresheners, vitamins, probiotics, energy support, sleep support, seasonal support, digestive support, bug spray, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc.

How many times have you spent a small fortune on household cleaners and personal products at Walmart and wondered how it all added up so fast? By thinking of this as a lifestyle change, it’s easier to say ‘no’ to all of these things found in stores because I am aware of the toxin content and choose to get my stuff in though Young Living on my monthly orders. In my household, we don’t even think of it as being extra money being spent or really notice it at all because we have started ditching the old stuff and switching to the toxin-free Young Living versions. Not to mention that every time my order comes in the mail, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. They also send promotional freebies and give you a chance to earn money back without even signing anyone up yet.

The only thing is, by doing this as a business, I’ve also received the opportunity to make my money back and earn additional income. You really can’t lose out. There are no contracts or commitments and you can cancel anytime if it isn’t right for you. Worried about “selling”? Don’t be. This stuff naturally sell itself and we’ve got tools and training to help you. We grow as a group. Part of that growth (if not all) happens by building from the bottom up. Have a bad month? I might not and can help you grow by stacking up my new member members underneath you. This can be confusing, but it happens and is a small example of how the business works and continues to grow. Trusting the process is how it all starts.

This is the set of spray glasses I’ve chosen for my Thieves cleaner and other DIY projects such as fragrant mists, massage oils, and roll on perfume blends. They were super affordable and came with interchangeable tops! I found them on Amazon. Get yours here!

Get started

If you’re ready to get your starter kit and start your oily journey to a safer, toxin-free lifestyle, feel free to sign up here and get your Thieves on! If you choose to do the business with me, I will also send you a welcome packet including a special essential oil roll on or massage oil blend (you pick) and I will also be adding you to my personal groups to aide you on your journey. Just choose your starter kit and sign up for Essential Rewards (your monthly product subscription plan that gives you additional promotions and freebies) and check the box that says you want to use your starter kit as your first Essential Rewards order. Afterwards, you can log in and choose what you want next month’s Essential Rewards order to consist of. I’ll be in contact right away to help you get started!

My team is great at looking out for each other and we really do raise in success together as a group. You will never do anything alone and we are all here to help each other out. We grow as a group, remember? I’ll always be there for you to assist, help answer questions, and hold your hand along the way. Success isn’t my dream, it’s my goal and I’m going to make it to the top. I’m in it for the long haul and want you to travel that road with me. My only regret is not starting this years ago.

Follow me on Instagram for other daily stories and testimonies. I truly adore Young Living and use their products every single day! My husband would say I have an unhealthy obsession. I’d say it was very healthy. 😉

If you want to learn more about Young Living, the Thieves cleaner, or anything else related, feel free to check out there website and don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Thanks for tuning in for today’s informational wellness post! Keep a look out for these types of posts every Thursday and be sure to check out this week’s Wellness Sunday Video on YouTube!

“Wellness Sunday” YouTube Video Series

Hey, loves! Happy Valentines Day!

I hope you’ve all been having a great day and an even better week! I wanted to pop in and give you guys a quick update in regards to life in general. It’s going to be quick, I promise! 😀

I’ve been doing even more research on toxins and how they effect our body and lets just say that I cleaned out even more of my products I’ve had stashed away in my bathroom, laundry room, and vanity. My toxin box is getting so big nowadays I’m not sure how we’re going to get it out the door! Kind of, but not really.

It has been really nice to take breaks from my art to focus on my Young Living business and vice versa lately. Today I have recorded and edited two new videos related to Young Living and I’ve decided that I’m going to be doing weekly wellness videos every Sunday. Sunday has always been my day to spend time with my husband and recharge for the next week. We start our day with a good breakfast and really enjoy our time in worship together at church.

Since Sundays are so important to me, I decided to start up “Wellness Sunday” on my YouTube channel to remind myself to focus on what’s important. While working a lot isn’t a bad thing, I think that it’s important to have a good balance and to remember to save some time for yourself as well. I’m hoping that this video series will give everyone something to look forward to in each week and that it will help others learn to care for themselves and their families.

That’s all I wanted to say for now, friends.

Thanks for reading, as always.

I’m “selling” essential oils nowadays. Did you guys know?

Hello, friends! I hope you all are doing well!

From the title up there, you guys already know what I’m going to be talking about in this blog. (and your still here! yay!) I know that my Young Living journey is still very new and I am somewhat slowly and shyly introducing it all into my social media and online platforms. It may not seem like it, but I have been trying to keep my story short and not flood you guys completely. Yes, this has been me being subtle. I’m just that excited about all Young Living has to offer! Anyway, before I go on a tangent, let’s get into the purpose of this blog, eh? I’m sure most people have noticed that I have recently begun “selling” Young Living essential oils in addition to their other products, but that’s exactly why I decided that I wanted to write this blog for you guys.

The thought started a few days ago when I got asked if I was “selling” essential oils now. I replied that I was and shared how excited I was to be on this new journey, but the conversation sort of died off there. It didn’t feel right when I was asked and the general tone of the question suggested that I was simply part of another “MLM/pyramid” scam. At that point, anything I could have said in response would have been written off because that negative mindset of me as “another pushy salesperson” was already set in place. People naturally start ignoring what you say about a business once they know you’re IN the business. I know because that’s how I’ve always approached MLM promoters; more like I avoided them.

If you guys were hoping to learn more about why I started a business with Young Living, I will kindly refer you to this video below. I address my reasons for the change and how I went from being VERY skeptical to taking the business on and being nothing short of excited.

It’s really funny, actually. When I was first looking into this business, what I was most worried and hesitant about wasn’t the fear of whether or not I’d do well with Young Living or even that I might regret it later. I knew without a doubt the more I learned that I was going to love the products and that they would benefit my life. What I was worried about, however, was how I would come across to my followers with the new change. MLM’s have such a bad rep, don’t they? I was curious how I was going to incorporate a completely different business to cooperate and coincide with my existing art business without distracting or taking away from it. I’ll be honest here. It’s something I’m still working on and am still learning how to go about it as I go along. I’m sure I’ll find that magic recipe, but until then I ask for your patience with the change! Scratch and sniff paintings, anyone?

Today I wanted to address the question I was asked and in particular, the use of the word, “selling.” While yes, it is true that I am a distributor for Young Living, the word, “sell”, just doesn’t sit right with me as an accurate description for what I do. Now I’m going to start telling you why that is. The answer is very simple and straightforward. I simply love the products and WANT to SHARE them with others. When “sell” is the word that’s used to describe what I’m doing, it leaves the annotation that my only goal is to make money off of whoever I’m discussing or sharing it with. This couldn’t be further from the truth or what I’m trying to do.

I joined the business side of Young Living because I knew that I would be ordering these products and sharing them anyway. Sharing is just something that happens naturally when you like what your using. We do it all the time with recipes, food, tv shows, and even the clothes we wear. If I just so happened to share some of the products I love and get paid in the process, that would be great, right?!

Do I want people to join my team and to buy the products? I’m not going to lie, of course I do! Everyone has goals and we all have to work in order to make a living. Life is expensive, so of course I would love it if someone were to become a member and were to support me in this business. This is how I earn my paycheck so that I can support my family. Does that mean I’m going to say a bunch of fluff and whatever I need to say in order to make the sale? This is a hard NO for me and that is where we, Young Living as a whole, draw the line. I’m never going to tell you what you want to hear simply because I believe it’s going to make a sale or share about products that I don’t support or believe in. Young Living prides themselves in being different from other MLMs in this way.

When I first started learning about the products, the oils especially, I was completely smitten. If you watched the video above, you will know that I did my own research on common household items and cleaners. After having done so, I got a big box from out of the garage and dumped all of my chemical-filled, toxic products into it and labeled it the “Toxin Box.” This was a huge factor for my decision among some other reasons.

To sum it all up for you, yes. Yes I earn money to share and make sales on Young Living products. No, I don’t directly try to “sell” them as that’s not my goal. I “share” because I care. I simply hope that this company, with all it’s products and business opportunities, can help change the lives of the people I share it with in the same way that is has been changing mine and my family’s. We all buy and use shampoo, cleaners, toothpaste, detergent, and supplements anyway so why not switch to a safer version while financially supporting someone you love. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

I hope I didn’t ramble on too much in this blog. This is something I just had to address. I have been really enjoying this business and using the oils that I got in my starter kit. I have yet to test the cleaners and other products, but you can bet I will be sharing about those in the future if they are anywhere near as good as the oils I have been using so far.

Oh! Speaking of sharing, If you guys are interested in a raw and “non-salesy” video on my starter kit and it’s contents, please see the video below! I was definitely still learning when I recorded it and I’m sure I made some mistakes, but that just goes to show you that my love and excitement for Young Living is genuine. That excitement and obsession is only growing the more I learn and the more I use their products.

*”Sales Pitch” Warning*

If you watched the videos and decided that you want to give this business a try, I truly hope you will consider ordering through me and joining my team. We are building a community of amazing people and I am part of several different groups that focus on my success and provide me with the information and guidance I need. By ordering with me and joining my team, you will also be getting:

  • $25 off your kit – because I know the kits are expensive and I want to personally give part of my own commission back to you in order to help with this big expenditure. I’ll do this through a PayPal transaction.
  • A special oily gift from me – I love giving gifts and am making welcome packets for new members that join my team with some little goodies (such as a perfume roller) & DIY instructions.
  • Access to success tools – addition into Facebook groups, monthly email newsletters, and direct contact with me as your line of support. Whenever I’m feeling down or stuck, I have a group of amazing women that I can contact that will give me encouragement, support me, and lift me back up again.

I want to be there for you along this journey and will hold your hand throughout the whole process. I’m not going anywhere and want you to know that I’m in it for the long run. I’ll stop myself there. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have. If this is an adventure you feel like your ready to embark on, you can sign up here and I’ll be in contact with you shortly after.

Have an amazing day, everyone!
